Saint Agnes Care Introduces New Weight Loss Surgery Program

Saint Agnes Care is pleased to introduce fellowship-trained bariatric surgeon Daniel E. Swartz, MD, to lead its new Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery Program.
An expert in advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgery, Dr. Swartz has performed more than 10,000 procedures and 5,000 bariatric operations. He is proficient in primary and revisional bariatric surgeries, as well as endoscopic procedures and endoluminal surgeries.
Prior to joining Saint Agnes Care, Dr. Swartz worked as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of California, San Diego. He has also served as the medical director for Bariatric Surgery at both Saint Agnes Medical Center and Clovis Community Medical Center.
Upon graduating from McGill University Faculty of Medicine in Montreal, Canada, in 1994, Dr. Swartz received a Master of Science in 1998, and completed a General Surgery residency at McGill University in 2000. He also completed a fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery and Surgical Endoscopy at the University of Maryland.
Dr. Swartz is a member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS); the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES); and The American College of Surgeons (ACS) in the United States; as well as the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Over the course of his career, he has been widely published in numerous surgical and scientific publications.
