Board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, Dr. Sumera Hayat brings her experience promoting health and wellness to Saint Agnes Care. She previously served as medical director of Avecinia Wellness Center in Clovis.

Dr. Hayat earned her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. She completed her residency in Family Medicine at Duke University Medical Center, Department of Community and Family Medicine, where she also completed her fellowship in Faculty Development. Dr. Hayat earned a Master’s of Public Health from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.

With a special interest in women’s health, Dr. Hayat has published a number of articles on the subject, including “Ethical Dilemmas in Women’s Health in Low Resource Settings.”

Dr. Hayat is known for giving back to her community. She served several years as a volunteer physician and board member of the nonprofit Mariam Clinic, a free health clinic in Raleigh, NC.

Dr. Hayat resides in Fresno with her two children and spouse, Dr. Jeff Wilkinson.
