Established in 1979, the Cardiac Rehabilitation and Lifestyle Program was the first of its kind in the Central Valley. It was also the first to be certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.

The program is supervised by registered nurses and exercise physiologists who monitor participants throughout a program of up to 36 EKG-monitored visits. As prescribed by your physician, the program is a combination of education and exercise developed using national guidelines.

Cardiac Rehab can benefit patients who have had:

  • Coronary artery bypass surgery
  • A heart attack
  • Coronary angioplasty (PTCA) or coronary stent procedures
  • History of stable angina
  • Valve replacement or repair
  • A heart or heart/lung transplant

Cardiac Rehab can:

  • Speed recovery during and after hospitalization.
  • Give patients a greater sense of well-being and confidence.
  • Identify and improve awareness of factors that contribute to heart disease.
  • Enhance the life-long management of heart disease.
