Who can I have in the room with me during delivery, or C-section?
Every maternity patient is permitted ONE support persons to be with them at all times – before, during and after delivery.
Can my significant other leave and come back once we are admitted?
Yes. When you arrive, your support person will be given a blue wristband. This is their visitor identifier. As long as they have the blue wristband on, they can come and go, as needed.
Will I be required to wear a face mask during my time at the hospital?
No. Visitors are still encouraged to wear masks but they are no longer mandatory.
Are COVID-19 tests mandatory for scheduled C-section maternity patients?
Yes. Currently, all maternity procedural patients are tested for COVID-19. Patients who require an induction or c-section will be asked to have testing done 72 hours prior to your scheduled delivery date.
What if I am positive for COVID-19?
Mom would be treated as a COVID-19 patient, masking would be required at all times and staff would be required to wear the appropriate PPE coming and going from the room. Once you delivered, our healthcare team will be there to educate and support you during breastfeeding, either through expressing or skin-to-skin. Your support person is allowed to remain with you during your entire stay, with the exception of administration of the epidural and scheduled c-sections. If your support person leaves the hospital room, however, they will not be permitted to return to the hospital due to risk of exposure. Note that each patient is evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Is outside food permitted?
Yes.
Is your Café still open?
Yes.
Are you still offering newborn photos?
Due to COVID-19, we are not able to offer in-house newborn photography. However, you are able to take photos with your personal device.
