OB Emergency Department (OBED)
Current Visitation Policy
Currently, a NO Visitor policy remains in effect in the OBED.
As part of our vision to elevate the level of care and service we provide to expectant moms, Saint Agnes is proud to provide the Central Valley area’s only OB Emergency Department (OBED) that is staffed 24/7, 365 days a year, with Board Certified OB/GYN hospitalists. If you are greater than 20 weeks and have an urgent or emergent pregnancy-related need, take comfort in knowing that you will be seen by one of our OB/GYN hospitalists or your personal OB/GYN – regardless of time, complications, or circumstances.
Commonly referred to as OB Triage, our OBED is where you will go for any of the following:
- Scheduled non-stress tests (NST)
- Urgent or emergent pregnancy-related issues (for patients greater than 20 weeks)
- Active labor (you will be assessed to determine if it is time to be admitted)
- Lactation support (after your baby is born)
Our OBED is located on the 4th floor of the Main Wing. For easiest access, please enter through the Patient Registration entrance, east side of the campus, behind the Emergency Department. You may self-park in this area after 5 p.m. and on weekends. Once inside, make an immediate left and continue down the hall until you see the OBED directional sign.
