Welcome to Family Medicine

On behalf of our Faculty and Staff, I would like to welcome you to Saint Agnes Medical Center’s Family Medicine Residency Program.

We are a community-based Family Medicine residency located in Fresno, California (population 544,510). Fresno and its surrounding areas are home to many rural and underserved communities with a diverse population. Our program aims to produce Family Physicians who will advocate for the patients they will be caring for within the communities they serve. The residency’s mission is to produce Family Physicians with the knowledge and skills encompassing the full breath of Family Medicine. Graduates will be competent in providing comprehensive primary care, inpatient care, basic pediatrics, women’s health, and basic obstetric care.

Fresno and the San Joaquin Valley is known as the agricultural capital of the world. There are numerous farmers markets throughout the year. Fresno has most major chain department stores and restaurants with a good offering of small mom and pop businesses and restaurants. Our city offers an affordable cost of living with excellent school districts. We are located near Yosemite and King Canyon National Parks as well as easily accessible hiking trails. Major cities within our State are about a 2 to 3 hours’ drive from Fresno. We have a full-service airport that with flights into many of the major hubs in California.
