Michael Moya, MD, Program Director

Medical School: Ross University School of Medicine 
Residency/Chief Resident: UCSF Fresno Department of Family & Community Medicine

Dr. Moya is born and raised in Fresno, CA. He has been out of residency since 2014 and has been practicing full time as a hospitalist at Saint Agnes Medical Center. Dr. Moya has a keen interest in inpatient medicine and resident and medical student education. He has worked as an assistant professor of Family & Community Medicine at UCSF Fresno prior to him joining Saint Agnes Family Medicine Residency Program.

In his free time, Dr. Moya is a licensed pilot and loves to fly and is active in amateur radio where he has volunteered his time in marathons providing communication and first aid. 

Phillip Kim, MD, MPH, Associate Program Director

Medical School: St. George's University School of Medicine 
Residency: UCSF Fresno Department of Family & Community Medicine

Dr. Kim is the Medical Director of the Residency Clinic at Saint Agnes Care Family Medicine. He completed residency training at University of California, San Francisco-Fresno Family and Community Medicine and earned a medical degree from St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies. "Becoming a physician has been undeniably a life changing opportunity to apply one’s knowledge onto others in a positive way," Dr. Kim says.

During his free time, Dr. Kim enjoys mountain biking and software programming. He is fluent in English and Korean.

Jusel Ruelan, DO, Associate Program Director


Jusel Ruelan, DO

Medical School: A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona 
Residency: UCSF Fresno Department of Family & Community Medicine

Dr. Ruelan is the Medical Director of the Residency Clinic at Saint Agnes Care Internal Medicine Northwest. Dr. Ruelan specializes in family medicine and provides direct patient care while also serving as faculty for Saint Agnes’ growing number of family medicine physician residents.

Dr. Ruelan received her bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and her medical degree from A. T. Still University, School of Osteopathic Medicine in Mesa, Arizona. She completed her residency in family medicine with University of California San Francisco, Fresno.

Dr. Ruelan also practices osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM). She also has an interest in global health and community medicine.

She chose to become a physician so she could give back to her community and support good health in the Central Valley.

In her free time, Dr. Ruelan enjoys traveling and reading. She is fluent in English and Visaya.

Ji Young Park, MD


Ji Young Park, MD

University of Sao Paulo Residency: University of California, San Francisco, Fresno 

Dr. Park earned her medical degree from University of Sao Paulo, Brazil and completed her residency in family medicine at UCSF-Fresno. She subsequently provided primary care services for 4 years prior to joining Saint Agnes Family Medicine Residency Program. She is interested in community health education, preventative care, and culturally competent care.

I was raised in San Gabriel California east of Los Angeles in a working-class neighborhood and the first to attend graduate school in my family. Returning to California and serving the needs of the farmworkers of the Central Valley was a momentous occasion that defined me as their physician. Two decades later I am proud to once again serve as a Faculty member.

Robert Tevendale, MD

Medical School: University of Iowa 
Residency: Kern Medical Center, Bakersfield, California

Dr. Tevendale is one of our inpatient GME hospitalists. As a faculty member, Dr. Tevendale teaches residents in the hospital. With over 20 years of teaching medical students, Dr. Tevendale also participates in precepting residents in their outpatient primary care clinics. He mentors numerous residents during their three-year residency at Saint Agnes.
